My latest cake creation! I made this cake for my friend Jasmine at work who is having a little girl in a couple months. This was my gift for her at the work baby shower and there was a special note to mention 'the less pink the better' in the invitation. I found this amazing paisley ribbon to use on the cake and even though it was pink, I used purple and yellow flowers to offset it.
I used the doilies again underneath the cake and per my husbands suggestion used yellow ribbon the second tier with a hint of yellow flowers to really make this cake pop!

Totally for Tamara!
This was my first attempt at a diaper cake for a little boy and I found it much more difficult not being able to use my normal beautiful flowers like I do for little girls. Instead the ‘theme’ of the shower was rubber duckies and the colors were blue and yellow.
I found these cute mini polka dot rubber duckies at a party store and while I liked the look I just kept feeling like the cake needed something more! I used some really cute rubber ducky ribbon and the normal décor, pacifiers, socks, baby spoons to finish it up!

All for Abigail!
This is by far my FAVORITE diaper cake I’ve made so far, it’s girly and so sweet yet still funky and fun! I made this for my friend Tanya’s little girl Abigail and also co-hosted her baby shower. The theme was a ‘circus’ and we had a cute little elephant on the shower invite and then decorated with pink elephants around the house.
For the first time I used doilies at the bottom of the cake to add an antique look to the cake. I also LOVED the light pink and yellow flower sprays I used to look like a burst of flowers coming out of the cake!
Sooo happy that Tanya loved it so much, she even told me she thinks it's too pretty to take apart (and because the diapers I used were size 2 she can leave it up for awhile) !

Surprise for Scarlett!
This was my first non-pink inspired cake that I made for my Bestest friend Meegan’s daughter Scarlett! I also threw the baby shower for Scarlett and one of the things Meegan wanted was no pink! We ended up choosing green and purple as the main colors and the shower was ‘sweet-pea’ themed.
This was the first cake that I decided that a taller bottle worked best in the top tier, it acted more as a topper to the cake along with the flowers and since then I’ve made sure to use the tall colored bottles in the top tiers of all my cakes. You can also see I went back to using the Pampers Swaddlers brand of diapers.
I absolutely LOVED putting this cake together one, because it was a surprise to Meegan, and two because it was made out of so much love for Meegan and her baby girl!! Meegan is the best friend/wife and mother a person could know and I feel so blessed to have her in my life!

Love for Linda!
My second try at putting together a cake turned out beautifully! I made this cake for my friend Linda (who I use to work with). I put on a few more flowers than the first cakes and used the same ribbon for all three layers; I also used a colored bottle for the top tier to add a bit more color to the cake. I chose pink and brown and the main colors as these were the colors that Linda was using for her nursery.
As you can see I used a different type of diaper than I used for the first cakes. The diapers used in this cake were Huggies but as you can see from the pictures they had blue/yellow stripes on them. For future cakes I decided to use the Pampers Swaddlers that were all white and tended to look better, however that being said the Huggies ones would probably be good for a baby boy cake!
The baby items that I typically use to decorate the cakes, in addition to the ribbon and flowers are: pacifiers, baby spoons, socks and a rattle.

Cakes for Kendall!
Here are the first two diaper cakes I attempted to make for my Niece Kendall . I found a few websites that had instructions on how to create these and went from there, all-in-all they turned out pretty great! There are of course a lot of things I would change looking back at them now, but for a first attempt they turned out really well! As you will see in the cakes to come I made sure to use more contrasting colors with the ribbon as well as décor because the diapers themselves are white and the white ribbon tended to blend in a little too much on these ones.
Even though the flowers I used have some light pink in them I tried to go for a more trendy and hip look by using the hot pink ribbon and sparkly silver ribbon as sometimes people can go a little overboard on the pepto bismol pink for little girls!

The cakes look very simple looking back on them now, I used less flowers and ribbons than I currently do and only a few baby items.
As you can see from the picture above I included additional baby items on the cake such as baby socks, spoons, pacifiers and rattles. There are also bottles in the very top tiers and baby lotion in the bottom and middle tiers.

Welcome to my blog!
I decided to start this blog to feature one of my favorite things to do in my spare time... crafts, more specifically creating diaper cakes! About a year and a half ago my sister-in-law got pregnant with my Niece Kendall and she knew my love for being crafty and had seen a diaper cake on a website. She asked if I wouldn’t mind making a couple for her baby shower and for my first attempt I must say they turned out really well, plus I had such a fun time creating them. I’ve continued to get better and better with each one and hope you like what you see!
